10:00 am - 11:00 am

A program of the Miriam & Moses Center for Pluralistic Adult Jewish Learning

In the post-October 7 world, American Jewish life is more intimately bound up with Israel and Zionism than ever before. In this speaker series, a variety of perspectives on current events in Israel will be presented, and our personal beliefs about Israeli politics, Jewish peoplehood, and the role of State of Israel in the world today will be explored.

IN PERSON ONLY

Over two years ago, Shye Klein left Canada for Israel to be closer to his family. On October 7, he attended the Nova Music Festival, anticipating an evening of music and peace. When the attack began, he documented the unfolding events. Shye survived the deadliest massacre in Israel’s history and has since become an advocate for his community. Through his work, he raises awareness, confronts antisemitism, and helps others share their stories. His current project, Beyond the Supernova, is an extension, allowing survivors to express themselves through his lens and storytelling.

In this powerful program, Shye will present raw images and video from October 7, offering reflections on survival, healing, resilience, and efforts against antisemitism. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A, providing an opportunity to engage with his story, aftermath and global Jewish community support. This program is sponsored by Debbie & Stuart Lempert.

All are welcome at this free event, but registration is requested to ensure we have enough refreshments for all attendees.
