The mission of Temple Beth-El’s social action initiatives is to assist in feeding, clothing and supporting Great Neck, so our neighbors are never without basic human needs. Many opportunities are available. Whether you’d like to advocate for a cause or find ways to help the local community, join this group of like-minded social-justice activists in activities such as park cleanups or Midnight Run (distributing needed items to New York City’s homeless). In addition, many local public-school students receive hot meals or subsidized lunches during the school year. To avoid a drop-off in these services during school breaks, we collect food and snacks to donate to local families who are food insecure.
