It is striking how complicated it can be for so many of us to answer the question, “What is Zionism?” Consider your own answer. What does the word evoke for you? What are the biblical, historical, and modern-day roots of Zionism? At this moment, when the term “Zionism” is being weaponized and used not only against Israel but the Jewish people as whole, it is incumbent upon us to reclaim this word: its history, its present reality and its future.
