Erev Sukkot & Shabbat Service/Tikkun Olam Awards/Guest Speaker Karina Mena

During our Erev Sukkot and Shabbat service celebrating the Jewish values of chesed (kindness), hachnasat orchim (welcoming the stranger) and tikkun olam (repairing the world), we will offer a blessing of welcome to our new members.

The Stuart Lubert Tikkun Olam Award will be presented to congregants Len Schiff and Susanne Marcus for their leadership in our immigrant advocacy initiative.

During this service, as a program of the Miriam & Moses Center for Pluralistic Adult Jewish Learning, we welcome guest speaker Great Neck resident Karina Mena.
“A Place to Belong: One Immigrant’s Parth to Opportunity”
Karina will discuss her immigration journey from El Salvador to the U.S.

This service will also include a Torah reading.
