A Conversation with Ira Kohler, Author, Once a Paratrooper: The Story of Lone Soldier in the Gaza War

The Israel Committee presents Long Island native and former IDF Lone Soldier Ira Kohler. He will share a firsthand account of his service in the IDF Paratroopers on October 7 and throughout the war in Gaza.

Originally from Plainview, the author served in the IDF’s 890th Battalion of the Paratrooper Brigade. On October 7, he found himself in the heart of Israel’s hardest battles as he fought in Kibbutz Be’eri and went on to serve more than 100 days inside the Gaza Strip.
