 ing Jews\, Christians\, and Muslims in Medieval Iberia: How Golden Was It?
 \n\nThe Jews of medieval Iberia—today's Spain and Portugal—have captur
 ed the imagination of American Jews and have been a subject of much specul
 ation in Western culture. The notion that these Jews fashioned a civilizat
 ion within a multicultural pluralistic environment\, that they were at hom
 e and creative in their Judaism\, even as they mixed freely both political
 ly and culturally in Christian and Muslim society\, is indeed an attractiv
 e proposition in contemporary society. It's a lovely idea\, even as anothe
 r aspect of their history draws our attention: their decline and expulsion
 . We are mesmerized by the fall of these Jews from grace. Onto their fate\
 , we graft our present concerns. Can Jews who mix freely and are successfu
 l in a pluralistic society\, also suffer a reversal of fortune that leads 
 to banishment and exile?\n\nRegistration is required.\n\nThe semester cost
 s $50 for members and $100 for not-yet members.&nbsp\;\n\nParticipants can
