 ht Symposium where we will discuss Religion and State in Modern Jewish His
 tory over 10 sessions.\n\n*This session runs from 10/13 through 12/22\; th
 ere is no class on 11/24*\n\nInstructor: Rabbi Brian Stoller&nbsp\;\n\nThe
  separation of church and state\, a core principle of the United States si
 nce its founding\, hangs in the balance. As some state and federal leaders
  move to inject a particular form of Protestant Christianity into our publ
 ic spaces\, Jewish history can shed light on the challenges and opportunit
 ies we might face as the line blurs between religion and state. This cours
 e will survey key historical developments in Jewish history\, including Mo
 ses Mendelssohn's Enlightenment vision\, the rise of European nationalism\
 , the United States' experiment in pluralistic democracy\, religion and st
 ate in modern Israel\, and the troubling resurgence of Christian nationali
 sm in America today.\n\nRegistration deadline is Tuesday\, September 29\nF
 ee: $50 for members and $100 for not-yet members\n\nLate registration (aft
 er September 29) fees: $100 for all\n\nDigital participants may opt out of
