 ht Symposium where we will discuss Religion and State in Modern Jewish His
 tory over 10 sessions.\n\n*This session runs through 12/22*\n\n\n\nGuest I

 heology\, New York University\n\nSPECIAL NOTE: This free session is open t
 o all temple members and the Great Neck community. This session will be IN
  PERSON only for non-registrant guests attending this session.\n\nThe sepa
 ration of church and state\, a core principle of the United States since i
 ts founding\, hangs in the balance. As some state and federal leaders move
  to inject a particular form of Protestant Christianity into our public sp
 aces\, Jewish history can shed light on the challenges and opportunities w
 e might face as the line blurs between religion and state. This course wil
 l survey key historical developments in Jewish history\, including Moses M
 endelssohn's Enlightenment vision\, the rise of European nationalism\, the
  United States' experiment in pluralistic democracy\, religion and state i
 n modern Israel\, and the troubling resurgence of Christian nationalism in
  America today.\n\nRegistration deadline is Tuesday\, September 29\nFee: $
 50 for members and $100 for not-yet members. Late registration (after Sept
