 lt Jewish Learning\n\nJoin us for a special Shabbat weekend as we welcome 
 Dr. Elsie R. Stern\, professor of Bible at the Reconstructionist Rabbinica
 l College in Philadelphia\, and the granddaughter of Rabbi Jacob Rudin. Sh
 e has authored books and essays for scholars\, clergy\, and lay leaders\, 
 and has contributed to The Jewish Study Bible and The Torah: A Women's Com
 mentary. Dr. Stern is the general editor for the New CCAR Torah Commentary
 \, which will serve as the main Torah commentary for the Reform movement o
 f Judaism.\n\nFriday\, November 7\n5:30-7 p.m. Congregational Dinner\nJoin

 is belief in the power of language—continue to shape contemporary libera
 l Judaism. Dr. Stern\, Rabbi Rudin's granddaughter\, will reflect on his l
 egacy and how it animates American Judaism today.\n\nSaturday\, November 8
 \n9:15-10:15 a.m. Torah Study with Dr. Stern\nDr. Stern will discuss Paras
 hat Vayera through the lens of the new CCAR Torah commentary. Learn about 
 the commentary's content and approach\, and share your feedback.\n\n11:30

 why the reform rabbis' association decided to produce a new Torah translat
