DESCRIPTION:A program of the Miriam &amp\; Moses Center for Pluralistic Adu
 lt Jewish Learning\n\n***UPDATE***\nDue to popular demand\, this event wil
 l now also be live streamed. A link will be provided upon receipt of regis
 tration. \nThose not attending in person may come into the office to pick 
 up their copy of Shira's book.\n\nJoin us as TBE's Len Schiff moderates a 
 discussion with Queens native and author Shira Dicker as she discusses her
  book Lolita at Leonard's of Great Neck and Other Stories from the Before 
 Times.\n\nOur program will include music\, an exploration of Shira's ties 
 to Great Neck\, and a lively discussion. Shira will take attendees on an i
 ntimate\, uniquely Jewish journey from 1974 through the first decade of th
 e new millennium as her characters wrestle with identity\, independence\, 
 ambition\, sexuality\, faith\, and love.\n\nFun fact: Stories in the book\
 , viewed as risqué by many\, are works of fiction and not barely-disguise
 d diary entries\, according to Shira.\n\nShira Dicker is a restless writer
 -at-large\, activist\, and publicist\, who is captivated by contemporary c
 ulture. The mother of three adult children and grandmother of three little
  ones lives on Manhattan’s Upper West Side with her husband\, writer Ari
  L. Goldman\, and her Havapoo Cookie\, a bereaved dog whom she adopted at 
 a shiva house last Hanukkah.\n\nThe community is welcome at this event and
  registration is required.\nLight refreshments will be served after the pr
 ogram.\n\nThe $18 ticket price includes a copy of the book.\nClick here to
