Discussion to be led by Rabbi Tara Feldman.
What does Judaism say about life after death? We often hear about immortality as the perpetuation of the memory of the departed among the living. But what is the biblical view of the afterlife and, specifically, does the Torah acknowledge the immortality of the soul? What does Judaism say on resurrection of the dead? What is Sheol, Gehanna? What is Gan Eden? We will examine these and other questions such as the meaning of Jewish mourning rituals as they relate to immortality. Join us as we learn how Jewish views of the afterlife can provide meaning and comfort as well as nurture spirituality for the living.
